Our Swimming Lesson Timetable

Our swimming lessons run in line with Darlington Borough Council school term dates, helping children build consistency and progress week by week without the commitment of attending lessons during your child's school holidays. You can view our timetable here. Alongside our regular lessons, we also offer crash courses, intensive lessons and holiday camps during school holidays (subject to availability). These are booked separately and are a great way to accelerate your child’s progress.

How We Calculate Your Swimming Lesson Fees

We keep our pricing simple, transparent and fair.

To calculate your monthly swimming lesson fee, we:

• Take the cost of one lesson
• Multiply it by the total number of lessons available across the year
• Divide that total by 12

Monthly Fee = Cost per lesson × number of lessons per year ÷ 12

This means:

• A clear and consistent monthly payment
• No fluctuations depending on shorter or longer months
• Evenly spread costs across the year

Simple Monthly Payments

Your Group Lesson fees are paid via monthly Direct Debit, giving you:

• Predictable monthly payments
• No hidden additional monthly costs
• Continuous lessons without interruption

Please note: crash courses, private lessons and holiday camps are not included in your monthly membership and are booked separately.

Upfront Registration & Place Reservation Fee

When you join a Swim Buddies Group Lesson Programme, there is a one-off registration and place reservation fee.

This fee covers:

• Enrolment and administration
• Swimmer profile setup
• Class assessment and allocation
• Reserving your child’s place in a small, limited-capacity class

Because spaces are limited, once your child’s place is allocated, it is no longer available to other families. For this reason, the fee is non-refundable (except where required by law). Your monthly membership then keeps this place reserved and supports consistent, high-quality lessons.

Lesson Pricing Overview

Group Lessons

• £36 registration / place reservation fee
• £36 per month via Direct Debit
• Payments spread evenly across 12 months

Private Lessons (1:1 or 2:1)

• No registration fee
• Paid upfront in blocks - price based on cost per 1 lesson x number available in the block
• Pricing adjusted depending on start date

Flexible Monthly Membership

Our Group lessons run on a rolling monthly membership, so you’re not tied into a long-term contract.

If you wish to cancel:

• Provide at least 30 days’ written notice
• Notice must be given by the last calendar day of the month
• Your membership will end at the end of the following month

During the notice period, your child’s place remains reserved and lessons continue as normal.
